Pre-CES Tech Dispatch from Pepcom’s NYC Holiday Show

It’s been awhile since I’ve hit the road for a dispatch video! But this week I got out of the basement for a little while and headed to the “Pepcom Holiday Spectacular” in New York City. This annual event serves as a seasonal preview for various electronics brands, offering a first look at the gadgets and hardware hitting the market as the year draws to a close. It is a busy environment that functions as a precursor to the larger trade shows held in the winter, and it provides an opportunity to see how new technology performs in a fast-paced, mobile setting.

Check it out here!

This video serves as a dry-run of my CES coverage. Over the last couple of years I put my iPhone on a mount for recording, but for this show I grabbed my DJI Pocket 4P that I recently had a friend bring back from China for me. I did struggle a bit with the gimbal initially but it seems to perform well in the field including letting me use my big stick mic without issue.

If you’re a fan of my dispatch work let me know your thoughts about how it looks! The Pocket is a lot easier to work with but there are some things I felt the iPhone did a little better.
